Career Corner Interview Tips from ReFocus on Careers - Face-to-face Interviews Prepare for the Interview Part IV - Hallie Crawford

Career Corner Interview Tips from ReFocus on Careers - Face-to-face Interviews Prepare for the Interview Part IV I recently spoke to a great networking and career search group, Re:Focus on Careers, about creating a kick ass elevator speech. Keep an eye out for all of these free interview tips in my Career Corner posts: Prepare for the Interview The best way to ace your next job interview is to prepare for it. This may sound obvious, but its not. Too many applicants walk into an interview without knowing as much as they should about the industry, the company and its problems. Remember: You are there to solve a problem. Otherwise, the company wouldnt be hiring. Follow these steps: 4. Know the questions. You can almost bet on being asked: Tell me about yourself. Approach this from the employers point of view. Ask yourself, If I were hiring someone for this position, what would I want to know? Then answer those questions. And be ready for tough ones, too. Think of the worst questions you could be asked about your experience and abilities, then prepare positive responses. Extra Tip from Career Coach Hallie: When asked what your weaknesses are, answer honestly! We all have them so just admit them â€" AND be prepared to explain how you manage or overcome that weakness. Tell them how you handle it so that it doesn’t lead to errors or mistakes.
